Daniel Kidd is a Director of Kidd Aitken Legal Marketing.
Daniel has 12 years’ experience in the legal sector. He spent four years at Chambers & Partners in London, and was the Editor of the first three editions of Chambers Asia Pacific, launching the first edition in Singapore in 2008. During his time at Chambers he was responsible for every ranking table in the directory, reviewing thousands of submissions and coordinating the work of a team of 15 researchers. He also contributed to the company’s European, US and Global directories.
Upon leaving Chambers in 2010 he set up his own legal marketing consultancy, Kidd Consulting Ltd, which has been assisting local and international law firms across the world with their legal directory rankings, and other marketing and communications tasks. His Asia-Pacific experience has led him to work with many of the region’s largest law firms. He has a consistent track record of helping firms across the world secure ranking improvements in Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR1000 and other specialist directories. A number of his clients have won Law Firm of the Year awards from various organisations.
Daniel has lived and worked in the UK, Spain and Japan. He speaks advanced Japanese and intermediate Spanish.
Jacob Aitken is a Director of Kidd Aitken Legal Marketing.
Jacob has 12 years' experience in the legal sector. He was the Editor of the first three editions of Chambers Latin America, launching the first edition in Buenos Aires in 2008. He was responsible for every ranking table in the directory, reviewing thousands of submissions and coordinating the work of a team of 15 researchers. During his time at UK-based legal publisher Chambers & Partners, he also conducted research on European, African and US legal markets.
In 2010, Jacob launched his own legal marketing consultancy, JD Aitken Consulting Ltd, which has been advising leading law firms around the world on their legal directory rankings and assisting them with the preparation of submissions, with outstanding results. Jacob's unrivalled experience in Latin America has led him to work with many of Latin America's top law firms. He has also worked with leading law firms in Europe, Asia and the US.
Jacob is based in the UK and has lived, worked and studied in Chile and Spain. He speaks fluent Spanish, intermediate Portuguese and French and is studying Arabic.
Tony Williams has more than 35 years’ experience in the legal profession. He was Managing Partner of the world’s largest law firm, Clifford Chance, where he spent almost 20 years. Prior to his Managing Partner role he was a corporate partner in London and Hong Kong and Managing Partner of the firm’s Moscow office. He then went on to be worldwide Managing Partner of Andersen Legal and head of its UK practice.
Tony is currently the principal and founder of Jomati Consultants LLP, the leading UK-based international legal management consultancy. Jomati Consultants acts for many large and small firms around the world on issues ranging from strategy, organisation, partner performance and remuneration, key client programmes, strategic development, international expansion and mergers and acquisitions. In 2012 Jomati was, on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, awarded by the Queen the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.
Tony is a Visiting Professor at the University of Law. He is also a Non-Executive Member of the Board of the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Gary Manning is a marketing, communications and business development consultant.
He has over 30 years’ experience in a number of senior roles in the professional services sector, and was the marketing and business development director for 10 years at a boutique international law firm in London.
Before this he has also held senior positions at consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and leading City law firms Freshfields and Stephenson Harwood, where he managed substantial teams.
Gary specialises in law firm branding, focusing on the key elements of client communication, reputation management and thought leadership. He works with law firms, using a variety of different content management and media distribution tools, to develop and push key messages to achieve a strong brand profile and market positioning that helps drive business development and increase revenue..
He also has a great deal of experience working with law firms in producing strategic business development plans, and working closely with individual lawyers and practice groups on practical business development activities, including research and analysis of target markets, writing proposals, managing complex pitches, and implementing effective client relationship management programmes.
Gary is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Eugenia Navarro is a marketing, communications and business development specialist.
Eugenia has a Master’s in Strategic Marketing from ESADE (Spain’s leading business school, and one of the leading such institutions worldwide). She is the Director of TAMA PROJECTS.
In 2000 she joined Baker & McKenzie’s Madrid office as Marketing Director for Spain, one of the first positions of this type in the country, and remained at the firm for seven years. She currently advises major local and international law firms across the world on legal marketing and business development strategies. She specialises in law firm mergers, internationalisation and brand positioning.
Eugenia has extensive experience as a law firm trainer, benefiting from her position as Director of ESADE Law School’s Master’s in law firm management. She is the author of numerous articles about marketing and management in the specialised press, is a blogger in Expansión.com (Spain’s leading financial newspaper) and is co-director of ESADE Law School’s department of legal studies (since January 2011). In 2014 she published her first book: Legal Marketing (Ed. Tirant Lo Blanc).
Steven Ongenaet is a business development and marketing consultant with over 12 years’ experience in the professional services sector. He has broad experience in the legal sector, where he has advised many leading international and independent law firms, either as external consultant or head of Marketing and BD teams.
He works on the crossroads of strategy and technology, and has extensive international experience, including in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Belgium, Sweden and The Netherlands.
His expertise includes Strategy Formulation, Strategic Marketing, PR and Communications, Client Relationship Management, and International Business Development.
Steven frequently speaks at events on legal marketing and business development.
Steven graduated with honors from Leiden University (The Netherlands), and obtained a degree in Strategic B2B Marketing from Vlerick Business School (Belgium).
Steven is based in Mexico. He speaks fluent Spanish, French, Dutch and English.
Seth has a decade of experience working in the legal publishing field and has held senior roles at both The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
His main focus during his time in the profession has been the US and Canadian legal markets. In his capacities as US Deputy Editor at Chambers and Partners and, more recently, the Editor of the US and Canada guides at The Legal 500 (2015-2019), he has studied and provided feedback on thousands of submissions across numerous practice areas. He has also developed a solid grasp of the UK and New Zealand law firm scenes.
As a former Head of Training at Chambers and Partners, and having also been involved in training at The Legal 500, he has a nuanced understanding of the internal processes and methodologies employed by the two directories and the important differences between them.
Seth has a BA in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Sussex, an MA in Human Values and Contemporary Global Issues from King’s College London and is due to complete an MSc in Behaviour Change at UCL in 2020. He is also an NCTJ-qualified journalist.
Joe has 11 years' experience in the legal sector. He spent five years at Chambers & Partners in London, and was the Editor of the UK Guide for solicitors. During his time at Chambers he was responsible for every ranking table in the directory, reviewing thousands of submissions and coordinating the work of a team of 30 researchers. He also contributed to the company's Asian, US and Global directories.
After leaving Chambers in 2011, Joe worked in the marketing department of a top 50 UK law firm. He subsequently worked as a commissioning editor for the legal publisher Sweet & Maxwell, where he was responsible for managing some of the best known legal textbooks in the market, including Crown Court Index.
Joe has lived and worked in the UK, Japan, China and Thailand.
Giseli Farias is a legal directory specialist.
Giseli has a degree in Education from the University of Rio de Janeiro and a professional diploma in Project Management from the Brighton School of Business and Management.
Giseli worked at Chambers & Partners for several years, first as a Senior Researcher on the Chambers Europe directory, and later on as the Head of Brazil Research on the Latin America Guide. After living in London for five years, Giseli returned to Rio de Janeiro in 2012, where she established her own business offering a variety of services including events production, translation, transcription and interpretation. Giseli has assisted law firms with their directory submissions for the past five years.
Giseli joined Kidd Aitken in 2017 and specialises in writing legal directory submissions for leading law firms around the world.

Chloë is a senior legal directory specialist.
Chloë holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Glasgow and is a licensed attorney in New York State.
Chloë has six years of legal experience in both the UK and US markets working for a variety of law firms primarily in the field of immigration law. She also worked at Chambers & Partners on the FinTech Guide, where she conducted investigative research into the FinTech sector globally and analysed hundreds of submissions from around the world.
Chloë joined Kidd Aitken in 2017 and specialises in writing legal directory submissions for leading law firms around the world.
Chloë previously worked as a paralegal and then as a freelance US immigration attorney, specialising in aliens of extraordinary ability and religious workers visas. She has lived and studied in the Netherlands, the UK and the US. She speaks conversational Italian, is currently improving her French, and learning Spanish.
Matthew is a senior legal directory specialist.
He holds a first-class BA in French Studies, an MA in Translation and is currently studying in his spare time for an MSc in Environment & Sustainability.
Matthew joined Kidd Aitken in 2019 after several years at Chambers and Partners, where he analysed hundreds of submissions from leading law firms around the world. Having worked as a Senior Research Analyst and later as an Assistant Editor on the Chambers Global guide, he has researched and overseen various Global-wide and Africa-wide sections, as well as focusing on African countries such as Kenya, South Africa, DRC and other francophone jurisdictions. He also conducted research for Chambers USA and Chambers Canada.
Prior to entering the legal directories sphere, Matthew worked as a translator and editor, translating academic books and journal articles, commercial marketing materials and travel writing from French to English. He draws on his linguistic expertise and editing experience to assist leading regional and international law firms with their directory submissions.

He has worked in legal publishing for over five years, with experience as a Deputy Editor on the Chambers Asia-Pacific and Chambers Global guides.
As a Deputy Editor of the Asia-Pacific guide, he oversaw research across the international legal services markets in Singapore, Japan, China and Hong Kong, and he managed the team researching Australia and New Zealand. He subsequently moved to the Chambers Global guide as a senior founding member of the team established to develop its research into firms' international and cross-border capabilities out of key jurisdictions in the USA, UK, Europe and Asia-Pacific. During his time at Chambers he analysed hundreds of submissions across the full range of practice areas, and presented on the submissions process at Chambers’ events.
He has detailed understanding of the directory submission and analysis process and of the relationship between the country, regional and global rankings.
He has also worked as a translator and editor while living in Brazil and the Netherlands, and he holds an MA in World History & Cultures from King's College London as well as a BA in History from the University of Southampton.
Matthew Eyre combines a very strong understanding of the law and the legal industry with superb writing, editing and proofreading skills.
Matthew previously spent many years working as a copywriter and subeditor for a major multinational research publishing company, specialising in composing reports and preparing them for publication. He has a very strong record in ensuring that published material is accurate and persuasive in a fast-turnaround environment .
A first-class law graduate from the University of London, Matthew also has several years of experience working as a freelance legal advisor and as a paralegal in law firms in London, working in a variety of practice areas including employment, consumer rights and property disputes.
Matthew is able to communicate well in Spanish and Bulgarian and is currently working towards fluency in both of these languages, as well as in German.
Kate is a Legal Directory Specialist. She holds a first class degree in Politics from the University of Sussex and a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP Waterloo.
Kate spent a year with specialist cross-border disputes firm Omnia Strategy before joining Mishcon de Reya’s business development team where she looked after fee earners in the Mishcon Private and Family practice areas. During this time her responsibilities included preparing directory and awards submissions and guiding lawyers through the submission process and research interviews.
Kate joined Kidd Aitken in 2019 and specialises in writing legal directory submissions for leading law firms around the world.
Ryan joined Kidd Aitken in 2019 and specialises in writing legal directory submissions for leading law firms around the world.
He has a keen eye for a standout submission, having previously conducted research and written editorial for both the WTR 1000 and IAM Patent 1000 rankings guides. Ryan developed his copywriting and editing skills at innovative start-ups and a multinational publishing company in London and has provided editorial services on a freelance basis for several years. He has also worked at a boutique insolvency law firm.
Ryan holds an MSc in European Studies from the University of Gothenburg and a BA(Hons) in History from Queen Mary University of London. He is based in Sweden and speaks conversational Swedish and basic German.
Anastacia is a Legal Directory Specialist. She holds a qualifying law degree from Nottingham Law School and is currently undertaking an LPC and Masters in Law at the University of Law in Bristol.
Anastacia has over 9 years of experience working with two leading insurance law firms, Everatt & Company, Solicitors (which became Plexus Law) and DAS Law. With a brief stint in Defendant Occupational Disease litigation, working on behalf of clients Ageas and Capita, Anastacia specialises predominantly in contentious and non-contentious Employment Law and HR matters (including cross-border and tax matters). With particular expertise in Respondent litigation, Anastacia has acted on behalf of a number of public and private organisations, including NHS Trusts, academic institutions, large charitable organisations, blue chip companies, high net worth individuals in addition to SMEs and start-up businesses.
During practice, Anastacia has been actively involved in business development, writing submissions in-house for Chambers and the Legal 500 in addition to drafting legal and marketing material for online law updates, training events and conferences. e.g. ALARM risk personal injury insurance conferences held each year and pension updates (NEST/Auto-Enrolment).

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Liverpool and has also completed a PGDip in Newspaper Journalism.
Angela has more than 12 years of experience in the legal sector and has focused on her work as a writer and researcher for The Legal 500. During her time working with The Legal 500, she conducted in-depth research across the full range of titles covering the UK, UK Bar, EMEA, Asia Pacific and US guides, which involved analysing thousands of law firm submissions from around the world and interviewing many of the world’s leading lawyers across a variety of practice areas.
As an NCTJ qualified journalist, Angela has also written in-depth articles for specialist titles, with an emphasis on the legal sector.
Angela joined Kidd Aitken in 2020 and specialises in writing legal directory submissions for leading law firms around the world.
Richard has more than 10 years’ experience in the legal sector, both on the directory and the law firm-side.
He spent more than five years working across various Chambers & Partners directories, including more than two years as a Deputy Editor on Chambers USA. During his time there, he oversaw and assisted with the research, rankings and editorial for hundreds of sections, helped develop new research infrastructure, and led researcher training. He also contributed to Chambers’ UK, Global and Asia guides.
From 2013 until 2019, Richard worked as a senior member of the London marketing and business development team at a major international law firm, where he focused on pitches, directories, awards and editorial.

Alex Cowlishaw is a Legal Directory Specialist.
He has three years of legal sector experience, working for the Chambers and Partners Europe team as a senior researcher and writer. In this role he predominantly conducted in-depth research and analysis of the Nordic, Baltic and Irish legal markets, providing additional assistance in the production of numerous Chambers UK-wide and UK Bar guides. He offers a comprehensive knowledge of the legal directory process, having evaluated hundreds of submissions from market-leading firms spanning a variety of legal practice areas.
Alex holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Derby and an MA in International Relations from the University of Exeter. Prior to his involvement in the legal sector, Alex has worked for Devon County Council, the British Council and has conducted research for an NGO established by former staff of Amnesty International.
Jon has almost 15 years’ experience in the legal sector; both working for the legal directories and also working in-house at barristers’ chambers.
He spent 10 years working on a number of Chambers & Partners directories, principally the UK and USA guides. He was the Deputy Editor of the Chambers UK Bar Guide for four years, managing the research, rankings and editorial for a number of sections, as well as standing in for the editor at Chambers & Partners’ annual ‘Meet the Editors’ presentation, and speaking on Chambers & Partners’ behalf at events run by the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks and the Legal Practice Management Association.
Jon has worked for three leading barristers Chambers as both Client Care and Marketing Manager. At all three sets he managed the directories submissions process and also contributed towards the sets’ business strategy, PR and communications output.
