Giseli is the Head of Latin America and Iberian Markets at Kidd Aitken. Having worked as Head of Brazil Research on the Latin America Guide at Chambers and Partners in London for several years, she developed her knowledge of the intricacies of the legal industry.
Originally from Brazil, her language skills in Portuguese and Spanish are key in her communications with her client base in Latin America. She explains that speaking in the warmth of a Latin language and having the cultural understanding of an expat makes clients more comfortable, in particular those from a similar cultural background. Presently living in Spain, she is curious about European culture, and this desire to learn about anything and everything is mirrored in her approach to firms’ legal directory submissions.
With a background in marketing for organisations in the publishing and music industries, the transferrable skills she garnered can be applied to the legal environment. She has a passion for highlighting the successes of your firm and delving into your motivations and objectives. For her, remote working brings plenty of benefits. By not having to use public transport, she saves time that can be dedicated to helping feed the vulnerable, when volunteering monthly at the Asociación Amigos de la Calle.
In her spare time she enjoys yoga, crossfit, meditating and hiking in the mountains of Valencia, and values spending quality time with her teenage son.
Matthew is a Legal Directories Consultant at Kidd Aitken Legal Marketing. He moved to London from New Zealand in his early 20s to pursue a law degree. Working as a paralegal for a number of barristers and boutique law firms in the litigation space, he developed excellent critical reasoning and negotiation skills and believes this formative experience allows him to manage a complex mix of information with ease.
Remote working fits in perfectly with his personal interests. Matthew currently works from Plovdiv, Bulgaria, a city which he finds very relaxing. He enjoys virtually meeting co-workers and clients from all over the world, while setting time aside for mountain biking and visiting the lovely hills of Plovdiv. In his 12 years of remote working has cultivated a music career alongside his work in legal directory submissions. He recently re-joined Motorcycle Display Team, an alt-rock and roll band based in London, and is currently working on their new album and frequently travels between Plovdiv and London.
Chloë is a Legal Directories Manager at Kidd Aitken Legal Marketing. She has a legal background, having completed a law degree in Glasgow. However, she sought to venture outside the traditional legal pathway with work experience in New York after graduating in U.S. immigration law.
As a qualified attorney, her role included assisting individuals in a variety of ways to become lawful citizens, such as work visas, green cards and helping immigrants obtain work authorization. Not only did she find this experience very rewarding, she believes it helps her better connect with most of her clients in the U.S. Passing the bar exam meant grasping the structure of the legal system, and her cultural understanding of the U.S. law firm model gives her a great insight into the best approach to showcasing Firms’ and Partners’ strengths in legal directory submissions.
For Chloë, working from home suits her personality better. So far, she has worked from Spain, Scotland, and took some time off her job in the past to visit Japan. In her free time, she practices and teaches yoga, having completed a teacher training course with Yogi Ashokanada, and was involved within Our Parks, teaching Yoga to an Indian/Pakistani senior community in Hayes, West London, on a charity basis.
Monica is one of the newest members of the team, as a Legal Directory Consultant. She has a unique mix of ability and experience, having completed a dual Bachelors of Medical Science and Business, and further graduate level education in Health Technology. She has spent years working in sales and business development roles across the Finance, Pharmaceutical, and Legal sectors.
Her scientific background is a great asset, as some of her clients have practices focused on healthcare, or complete transactions in the biopharma or biotechnology sectors. These experiences give her an accurate insight into the complexity of such matters, and the best strategies to differentiate them.
Presently, she lives in Portugal and runs a vegan restaurant with her partner, which would not be possible without the benefits of remote working and efficient collaboration between Kidd Aitken colleagues. Between legal directory submissions and restaurant management, she enjoys doing yoga, walking her dog, and connecting with the expat community.
Matt is a Senior Consultant at Kidd Aitken and one of the earliest members of our expanding organisation and is also our Head of Training because loves Kidd Aitken’s culture of collaboration and connection. After numerous holidays in France when he was younger, he ended up falling in love with the French language. This influenced his life’s path: he later decided to study the language at university, obtaining an MA in Translation and working as a translator in Paris after graduating. When he returned to the UK, he worked at Chambers & Partners as a French-speaking researcher before eventually joining the Kidd Aitken team. He grew up in Cleethorpes and spent most of his childhood outside: birdwatching, walking and exploring nature along the north Lincolnshire coast.
Nowadays he still spends most of his free time outdoors, hillwalking and mountaineering in the Lake District, Snowdonia and Scotland (he’s aiming to climb all of the Munros), and cycling all over the southeast, where he currently lives.
Matt’s interest in environmental protection was extended at Chambers, where he was exposed to the connections between legal practice and environmental consequences. Once at Kidd Aitken, where he could work flexibly and remotely, Matt graduated with Distinction in MSc in Environment & Sustainability and was awarded the Birkbeck Sustainable Futures Prize for his work.
This led us to launch Kidd Aitken ESG, a consultancy offering ESG services to law firms. Find out what law firms should be considering and how we can help here.
